1961 was the year of the Gibson SG, and with this authentic replica you'll go back in time!

A Gibson SG like you used to buy! This SG Standard '61 is completely period-correct with a special TV Yellow Finish, Burstbucker elements for that authentic PAF sound. A nice additional advantage is that this Gibson SG Standard '61 sounds great and plays wonderfully. The Gibson SG Standard has a funny history. Initially, this guitar was known as the Gibson Les Paul from 1961 onwards... Huh? Indeed, this model was intended as the successor to the heavy Gibson Les Paul. With only a thin mahogany body, this was the answer to the complaints about the weight of the Les Paul. But there was a small problem. Mr. Les Paul himself found the guitar hideous and not representative of his vision of the ultimate guitar. He therefore decided not to lend his name to the model anymore. So a new name had to be found, and so it was done! The Gibson SG grew into one of the most legendary guitars in the history of rock music. Think of big names like Angus Young, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Duane Allman and more recently, Derek Trucks. A Gibson SG has a very distinctive sound. It bites, pierces well through the music, and in the right hands the guitar can even sound very subtle. The Gibson SG is iconic in every way and it is therefore great that this guitar is now available again. This SG is equipped with a Slim Taper neck that feels very nice. In terms of pickups, the Burstbuckers were chosen, which convincingly reproduce the PAF sound. The guitar comes with a beautiful soft shell case.
