You have to be creative to be innovative. PRS has now used reclaimed woods from old buildings to build guitars with exotic woods never used before in the guitarbuilding process. There were 2 specific wood species used in these builds, Peroba Rosa and Brauna Preto. Originally hailing from the Brazillian forests these reclaimed woods are likely more than 100 years old already, so no new trees were harmed for these guitars.
The woods were also perfectly dried over the years and years being part of a construction. So ideal to build some great guitars with them. Only 2 models are made, the Vela and CE24. This CE24 is the popular US built PRS with Bolt-On neck construction. With the use of the reclaimed woods the guitar now has a robust look and you might even find some nailholes in the top which makes each guitar unique.
